Michelle Tan brings 14 years of hands-on career development and talent management experience to PathShift Career Coaching. She holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and previously spent 8 years as a Human Resources Manager at a multinational financial services firm in Singapore’s Central Business District.
Her journey into career coaching wasn’t planned. While working in HR at the financial services firm, she saw talented professionals struggle when industries shifted. They’d hit mid-career and suddenly feel lost — unsure how to rebrand themselves or navigate Singapore’s rapid job market changes. That’s what drew her to career psychology and mentoring.
In 2015, Michelle started volunteering with NTUC Learning Hub, helping retrenched workers rebuild their careers using SkillsFuture initiatives. She completed her Master’s in Organizational Psychology from NTU in 2018, focusing her thesis on career resilience in Singapore’s evolving job landscape. Since joining PathShift in 2020, she’s developed comprehensive guides on SkillsFuture credits, conducted over 300 personal branding workshops, and facilitated networking events at LaunchPad One-North.
Today, she’s a certified SkillsFuture facilitator recognized by the Ministry of Education Singapore. Her approach combines psychological principles with practical knowledge of Singapore’s career support infrastructure — making career transitions feel less overwhelming and more achievable.
